Terms of Service — Parts Journey

1. Who We Are
Parts Journey is a software platform operated by Team Palani LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or otherwise using Parts Journey, you (“you” or “User”) agree to these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. What Parts Journey Is, and What It Is Not
Parts Journey is a journaling and visual mapping tool intended to support personal reflection on the framework known as Internal Family Systems (IFS). It is a workspace for organizing your own thoughts, recording conversations with parts of yourself, and optionally sharing what you have created with a therapist.
Parts Journey is not therapy. It is not a healthcare service, a clinical instrument, a diagnostic tool, a medical device, or a substitute for treatment by a licensed mental health professional. Use of Parts Journey does not create a therapist-patient, doctor-patient, or other professional relationship between you and Team Palani LLC.
Parts Journey is not a crisis service. If you are in crisis or experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact emergency services in your area. In the United States, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Outside the United States, contact your local emergency number or crisis line.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you are 18 or older and legally able to enter into this agreement.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it.
4. Your Account
Parts Journey uses magic-link email authentication. You are responsible for:
- The accuracy of the email address you provide
- The security of the email account associated with your Parts Journey account
- All activity that occurs under your account

5. Your Content
Everything you create, write, draw, photograph, record, or otherwise enter into Parts Journey is your content. You retain ownership of your content.
By using Parts Journey, you grant Team Palani LLC a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, transmit, and display your content solely to operate the platform on your behalf, including delivering your content to share links you authorize.
We do not use your content to train artificial intelligence models. We do not sell your content. We do not analyze it for advertising. We do not share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Share Links
Parts Journey allows you to create read-only share links that grant another person (typically a therapist) access to a date-bounded view of your content. You alone choose:
- What date range to share
- When the link expires
- Whom to send the link to
You are solely responsible for where and how you send share links. Anyone who possesses an active share link can view the content within its window. We strongly recommend sending share links only through channels you trust, only to recipients you intend, and revoking any link you no longer wish to be active.
You may revoke a share link at any time from your account. Revoked links stop working immediately.
We do not verify the identity of any person who opens a share link. The viewer is not a customer or user of Parts Journey and has no account, no payment relationship, and no contractual relationship with us. Their use of the link is at your invitation and direction, not ours.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Parts Journey to upload, store, or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing, or that depicts or facilitates abuse of any person
- Upload malware, attempt to compromise the platform, or interfere with other users’ access
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform
- Use Parts Journey to impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship with any person
- Use share links to distribute another person’s content without their consent
- Use the platform on behalf of any person under 18
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
8. No Professional Advice
Nothing in Parts Journey constitutes medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, legal, or other professional advice. Any IFS framework, terminology, or organizational structure offered by the platform is provided as a workspace convenience only. Decisions about your mental health care should be made in consultation with a qualified professional.
If you are working with a therapist, your therapeutic relationship is with that therapist, not with Parts Journey or Team Palani LLC. We do not direct, supervise, or participate in that relationship.
9. No Warranty
Parts Journey is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the platform is free of defects, that it will meet your needs, or that any particular content or feature will remain available.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Team Palani LLC, its officers, members, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, emotional distress, or damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. To that extent, the limitations in this section apply only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Team Palani LLC, its officers, members, employees, agents, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from:
- Your content
- Your use of the platform
- Your distribution of share links and any access granted through them
- Your violation of these terms or any applicable law
- Any claim made by a third party arising from your use of the platform, including any therapist, family member, or other person to whom you grant access to your content
12. Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting [email protected]. Upon deletion, your account and content will be removed as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these terms, if required by law, or if continued operation of your account creates risk to us or to other users. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue before termination.
Sections 5 (Your Content, license grant survives only as needed for backups), 9, 10, 11, 13, and 14 survive termination.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the platform shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ottawa County, Michigan, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted at partsjourney.com/terms with a stated effective date of no less than 14 days from posting. Email notice may also be sent to the address on file and is deemed received three business days after sending. You are responsible for keeping your email address current. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
